Team X-BOTS was excited about participating in the season’s first tournament at the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond. Even though we barely got our Robot working, we were really happy to give it a try, and see how it holds up. We were not disappointed. Balee Whaley.. our robot.. did well enough to be on the Winning Alliance, which was a first for us, so we were thrilled! The team did great in other categories too! We won the Motivate Award, and were finalists for Think and PTC Design Awards. That was a lot to handle:-) Being 2nd placed team on the Winning Alliance, and being the first tournament, we were unlucky not to qualify for states here. The top 5 teams were great and so were some others teams too! We were very impressed with the quality of the robots at such an early stage. Looking forward to the rest of the season!
